Christian Zionism or an example of how Israel is screwed
"The Vatican's envoy in the Holy Land and bishops from three other churches have launched a rare joint attack on the Christian Zionist movement, accusing it of promoting "racial exclusivity and perpetual war."
The "Jerusalem Declaration on Christian Zionism" was signed by Latin Patriarch Michel Sabbah, a Palestinian, and by bishops of the Episcopal, Evangelical Lutheran and Syrian Orthodox Churches in Jerusalem.
"The Christian Zionist programme provides a world view where the Gospel is identified with the ideology of empire, colonialism and militarism," said the declaration, accusing Christian Zionists of hurting hopes for Middle East peace.
"We reject the teachings of Christian Zionism that facilitate and support these policies as they advance racial exclusivity and perpetual war," the declaration added."
So a Vatican envoy lead by Palestinian and Syrian Orthodox Christians said they don't like the jooos, and that they don't like other Christians liking them. In reply:
"The three main Christian Zionist groups in Jerusalem said in a statement that they were concerned at the declaration's "inflammatory language" and that it was far from the truth."- Well, it was inflammatory. But read on.
"Christian Zionists stress Christianity's Jewish roots. Some back the movement to settle the occupied West Bank, the cradle of Jewish civilization, which Palestinians want as part of an independent state." - But what if Jesus wasn't Jewish? We shouldn't get support?
"We pray for peace. But we note with sadness that the present Palestinian government is totally dedicated to the destruction of Israel," the Christian Zionist groups said in their statement, referring to the governing Palestinian Islamist group Hamas.- Right you are, maybe your not cr..
The prospect of Middle East peace talks has looked even more unlikely since Hamas's election victory in January. The group is formally dedicated to destroying Israel.
"The problem in the region is not as simple as the Jerusalem Declaration makes out," the Christian Zionists' statement said.
"Some Christian Zionists believe that the return of the Jews to the Holy Land will bring about the end of the world and the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. Some also believe Jews themselves will have to become Christians or perish."- Wait. WHAT? I thought we were supposed to become Muslim or parish.
All Jews are not the same. The good ones become Muslims, the bad ones do not.- Muhammad Sayyid Tantawi, Muslim leader, philosopher extraordinary.
The two groups of Christians by the way are Orthodox and Protestant. Like nobody saw that rivalry coming.
Not one to editorialize or quote only what I want, you can find all of the article here. It has some more to it then that of course, for example, there are a lot of Christians who support Israel from the States who are not Zionist, 'etc, 'etc. And who am I to criticize those who support us? This really does raise the interesting question of how to react to support from somebody who you don't agree with their reasoning.
You see, just because one group said that Jews are bad because its written in their book and the other group said Jews are good because its written in their book and a third group said that the group that likes Jews doesn't understand their book and are largely lead by former members of the first group.. its all whacked. What if some new versions of their books are discovered which clearly state the opposite? And not to be anti-religious here, but logic dictated by interpretation of religious documents thousands of years old is just, well, not logical.
I think the above just exemplifies how Israel is screwed because of the historic and geographical circumstances, being the cradle of various religions and of strategic importance to so many different interests political and otherwise is just bad luck in my opinion. At times like these I wish we were all eskimos.
Thank you for your support Christian Zionists, but I can only pray to god that the reason for it is the right reason, namely reason. And if your confused, so am I.

CNN just aired something about this blog. In the same portion in which this blog was showed, another was as well (from Beirut). This has to be a first for Warfare, though it is quite interesting being able to get first-hand news from both sides of the event.

Eugene,
You can relax. Not all Christian Zionists believe the things in that article. As for me, I definitely do not believe that anything at all can "rush" the return of the Messiah. And I know you don't like some of our reasons for supporting Israel, but I assure you that those reasons come from the Jewish Bible, not the Christian Bible. (If you have a problem with the Jewish Bible, there's not a lot I can do to help.) For this reason, yes, Christians would still be pro-Israel even if Jesus weren't Jewish. But frankly, the idea of a non-Jewish Jesus is extremely disturbing!

First, i'm glad you clarified the misunderstanding in the previous post.
"So a Vatican envoy lead by Palestinian and Syrian Orthodox Christians said they don't like the jooos, and that they don't like other Christians liking them."
They don't like Zionists. There is a difference between Zionists and Jews.
"...and a third group said that the group that likes Jews doesn't understand their book and are largely lead by former members of the first group..."
So arab christians used to be muslims?
----------------------
now, a question about something you said. the part about eskimos. the whole Zionist implies jews moving from all around the world to israel. it is based on religion isn't it?
now, it is supposed to be a secular state. which really confuses me. people migrating based on religion, to a secular state. there's either a contradiction, or something i don't understand. feel free to elaborate if you like.
but i really do believe: "religion=trouble" :-) They all look great on paper, but when it becomes a large group activity, invariably someone takes advantage of the ability to control the masses.

Yaakova: "but I assure you that those reasons come from the Jewish Bible, not the Christian Bible" - I am not assured. It doesn't make much difference to me if those reasons come from the Jewish or Christian Bibles or from the Koran. That's exactly my point.
I wasn't implying that the Christian Bible somehow has less authority, it really makes no difference to me as I am not religious.
"They don't like Zionists. There is a difference between Zionists and Jews." - Yes, the Orthodox Christians don't like the Protestant Christians either.
"The whole Zionist implies jews moving from all around the world to israel. it is based on religion isn't it?" - It is absolutely not based on religion, Zion is another name for Jerusalem. The desire to return to Zion was one by the religious Jews since their exile because to them Zion, Jerusalem, has a religious significance.
It does not mean however that the modern movement is driven by religious ideology, the name is appropriate for different reasons. You see Europe, (and not just Europe, Arab countries, the whole world really) has grown increasingly antisemitic, decades before the holocaust. You had Pogroms, murders, what have you. It became simply impossible for Jews to live anywhere.
Zionism was a movement that was created as a reaction to this, it was one amongst dozens, the 18th century was one of new found nationalism in many many different people, one that preluded the creation of many countries. As senses of identity and nationality was developing amongst peoples in Europe and elsewhere so was it with Jews. The pogroms and later the Holocaust clearly showed that the Jews don't have a home in Europe, as previously thought, and a search for home was started. Israel wasn't the only suggestion either, for a time there was basically a Jewish country or province in communist Russia, Uganda was considered as well (I could have been writing this from sandy white beaches).
But the Jewish people did have a historic connection to Israel, its where Jews were exiled from, its were religious Jews wanted to return (I'd say pessimistically in a way) for centuries, and its where secular Jews realized they have to go to after many centuries in Europe, in order to survive.
The idea of all Jews immigrating to Israel is not one of religious right to those of a specific religion but one of historic right (and necessity) of a nation. Jews are not only a religion but a nation.
Most Zionists, most Jews who immigrated to Israel were not religious but rather Secular. From Russia. Communists. (As you can see from the Kibutzim we still have) Sure there were a lot of religious people as well, but it was not some exclusive religious club. The underlying reason was the same for everybody: we can't stay where we are anymore, we have to go somewhere.
"there's either a contradiction, or something i don't understand" - What you didn't understand is that its not contradictory. The name of the movement has some religious roots, the desire for home, as it were, was a passive religious desire for centuries until it became an active desire to survive. The Zionist movement and the word Jew are umbrella terms to both religious and not religious groups of people, their connotations make you think of the first, while the later is the more prominent one. I really hope I cleared this up for you.

Eugene,
Like I said, there's not a lot I can do to help/assure you if you don't believe the Bible (pick a Bible! Either one!!), because you want 'reason' to be the reason we are supportive of Israel. But you know what? Without God, I don't believe we have reason or morality. Since the Bible represents God's communication about reason and morality, there is ultimately no way that I know of for those concepts to exist apart from Him. Sorry if this is bad news to you, but I believe it to be true.

Eugene, I know this is off-topic but I'm looking to add your blog as a site feed but you don't have any links for RSS on your page, can you help?
Peace be with you.

Sure Sunny, its: http://israelibunker.blogspot.com/rss.xml
There's also a verity of ways to subscribe on the right side of the page, scroll down to the "Subscribe by clicking" section. And depending on your browser, you might have an RSS icon in the address bar.
Thanks for pointing it out, I'll see what I can do to make it more prominent. (It didn't occur to me because the number of subscribers is high)
"do yall in israel get taught self defense as a class in school" - No. I'm not sure what Krav Maga (Israeli martial art) would serve against suicide bombers and rockets, but you have a point.

Eugene,
Real quickly, concrning the different Christian perspectives (in general) on Jews & Israel -
The Orthodox (Roman Catholic, Eastern Orthodox, Byzantine, etc.) take mainly a "replacement" theology view of the nation of Israel and a cultural/traditional view of Jews in general. By "replacement" it is meant that the church has replaced Israel.
The Orthodox have changed their position on Jews through the centuries because they see them as just another ethnic group of people. Centuries ago when the Orhtodox had political power and it was politically & culturally expedient to persecute Jews (the Inquisition) they did so. Now it is more and more politically expident to support palestinians, so what little support they ever had for Israel is, in general, fading. When they are dealing with Israel it is best to look at them as political entities rather than churches or religions.
Concerning protestantism (all other "Christian" churches) there are two general views of Israel and the Jews, both based on a diference in Christian theology.
One group holds to "Covenant/Reformed" theology and they also hold to a "replacement" view of Israel and the Church. But, this group, in general, is not anti-Israel, but would hold a similar view of Israel as the Orthodox.
The other group protestantism hols to "Dispensational" theology and this group would not see the Church as replacing Israel, but rather that Israel is still God's people who will eventually receive all the promises made to them in the Jewish Bible (the Old Testament in the Christian Bible). This group is pro-Israel and pro-Jew because of their theology, people you are not so sure you want on your side, but, they support Israel no matter what Jews think, and they always will.
That is a very general and short summary.

how can you claim israel wants peace when they're still making new settlements?
By

First:
I discuss the topic at:
Christian Zionists vs Replacement Theology
Second settlements a problem? Why? Aren't Jews welcome in Palestine? What kind of apartheid state is that?
By
M. Simon, at 9:38 PM
the land of the settlements are in no way legally purchased. israel treats them legally as if they are part of israel, not palestine. and many in israel plan on annexing that land to become part of israel, taking even more land from the palestinians.
By
qzx, at 6:03 PM
the settlements are not only a huge drain on israel financially, but are also allowed to eat up palestinian resources:

Hey, just reading all your comments and it seems to me that you all got your judgements on us christians!! Israel is God's chosen nation, His holy people and nothing will change that, it is our duty as other countries and nations to stick up for Israel in their time of need just like God has commanded.

I cant't apologise enough for the atitude of some Christians to Israel. The Bible is clear:(1)the Jews are God's chosen people (2)all of the land from the Jordan to ther sea is promised to the Jews by God (3)Jesus is the messiah.
Millions of Evangelical Christians all over the world are firmly behind Israel and reject the ideas behind this article. In Britain we are the part of the Church which is growing. The rest is withering away.
By
Joseph of Arimathea, at 1:50 PM
I dunno, guys.I figure anyone who agrees with my POLICIES,regardless of his theologcal reasoning,is a friend of mine,at least philosophically.
I am quite delighted that (many)Christians support Israel so strongly, and feel more philosophical kinship (and gratitude)to them than to those US Jews who don't.
If they want to believe I'll accept Jesus when he comes back,I figure that's their business. I'll cross (pun) that bridge when I come to it.
I'm happy those nice Christian Zionists are around. It would be a lesser world without them. Thanks.I'm with you..mostly.

woow!
can someone explain where the humanitarian side of all of this is ??
i mean, why work for one side.?! you neglect the other one ! if we all stood in the middle , youthink we wouldnt loose balance. history causes us to slide more to one side or the other..although im entertained by history i dont think it should dictate our present. we would only serve ourselves to be living in the Past
ok,the jews are Gods chosen poeple ( as yor bible says ) but chosen for what ?? chosen to own?? this earth isn't eternal ..why are we fighting to own? if the jews are chosen for anything ..i would say their chosen to initate peace...isnt that a bit more of a flattering place to come from?why sqeeze out another group of ppl to make place for yourself. theres plenty of space...this would ofcourse take alot of time to sink in...poeple wont forgive and forget instantly. but they will never do that either if both sides stick to their old views.
we are all gods children.and when u side with one child over the other...you creating disturbance...dont allow yourself to create anything but peace...you must deal with both children, depending on where they stand at this moment. i cant wait for children to grow up and fix this Damn situation...this generation wont be dwelling about rights and ownership , revenge or loyalty.
loyalty to god = loyalty to humannity =equalness. and when you choose to back up isreal no matter what ...then its you whose dictating your reaction..dont you dare point this as gods will..this sounds like a christian version of an extremist muslim and suicide bomber. hed give his life for the sake of his Perception of what god wants .
.God will is peace love and respect. and god leaves the choice to you as how to implement your views onto this....Take resposibility of your own views and leave God out of it .

The Ark of the Covenant returned to Jerusalem!
Join me on my face book group. Crystal Meth is the Holy Anointing Oil.
Norman Christian Hoffmann's Facebook profile
The Ark of the Covenant and the Batteries of Baghdad explained!
In no way does the author and/or his/her affiliates endorse the use of scheduled substances without the supervision of a registered doctor of medicine nor the manufacture thereof.
The Ark of the Covenant as it is constructed in the Bible, with the ingredients that were used, was a gold lined box or ark used to cook essential oils from pith, calamus, myrrh, sassafras, Aaron’s Rod and cinnamon/cassia.Vinegar or spoiled wine acid was then added to this mixture. The introduction of copper or iron rods then caused a chemical process known as electro-chemical reduction by which the pith, calamus, myrrh, sassafras, Aaron’s Rod and and cinnamon/cassia were reduced to their essential oils much like a car battery today would produce the same results if an organic material was added to the battery and then allowed to sit in the sun for just a few hours.
The process described in the Bible to do this is exactly the same process used to manufacture crystal meth and many other essential oils!
Crystal meth is an essential oil or distilled oil of ephedra manufactured by the electro-chemical reduction process, using phosphoric acid, red phosphorous and ephedra. It is the same process.
“Like a skilled incense maker”
Then the Lord said to Moses, “Collect choice spices—12½ pounds of pure myrrh, 6¼ pounds of fragrant cinnamon, 6¼ pounds of fragrant calamus, and 12½ pounds of cassia—as measured by the weight of the sanctuary shekel. Also get one gallon of olive oil. Like a skilled incense maker, blend these ingredients to make a holy anointing oil. Use this sacred oil to anoint the Tabernacle, the Ark of the Covenant, the table and all its utensils, the lampstand and all its accessories, the incense altar, the altar of burnt offering and all its utensils, and the washbasin with its stand. Consecrate them to make them absolutely holy. After this, whatever touches them will also become holy.
The process of chemical reduction produces dangerous and explosive chemical gas.
When Uzzah reached out to touch it, he caused a static electricity spark and was smote by an explosion.
The Ark of the Covenant was known to cause lethal explosions.
Just like a crystal meth lab.
The Ark of the Covenant was to be handled by special people.
The tribe of Levi was to adorn heavy protective vests made of stones to protect them from an explosion.
Police today must wear protective gear wherever crystal meth is made.
Just like a crystal meth lab.
The Ark of the Covenant had to be handled in a special way.
They were only to approach the Ark from a distance with an open flame to reduce the chance of serious injury.
They were to carry it three days ahead of them to reduce injury.
They were to place it in a tent to funnel the explosive gas away.
Just like a crystal meth lab.
And the Ark, manna and the anointing oil used by them was known to sustain them without food or water for days.
Just like crystal meth.
The ephedra plant, (a constituent of myrrh,) Aaron’s Rod, sassafras, calamus and cinnamon/cassia were abundant in that area in those times and all are used in the production of amphetamines. All but cinnamon/cassia are known to have amphetamine like qualities. When combined and reduced through electro-chemical reduction in conjunction with each other ephedra and calamus or sassafras alone produces 3,4-methylenedioxy-N-methylamphetamine, MDMA or Ecstasy. Ephedra reduced alone produces N-a-dimethyl-phenethylamine orcrystal meth.
The calamus plant is depicted on King Solomon’s tomb. (Later mistaken for Marijuana or Kaneh Bosm.) King Solomon, Moses and many other anointed ones had communication with Jah, Eloah, Elohim, Yahweh, Jehovah or God. And King David himself danced half naked in the streets upon its return to Jerusalem he was so happy. TheArk of the Covenant is thought to be the radio to God.
But, it is not The Ark which is the radio but our minds. The Elohim are in the mind: attenuated to a certain frequency by the manipulation of our pineal glands, or esp.
“Then the LORD appeared at the Tent in a pillar of cloud”
Crystal meth, amphetamines, pseudo-amphetamines and modafinil are used to stimulate the pineal gland. The aptly titled seat of God. The organ associated with psychic phenomena, extra-sensory perception, mental telepathy, astral projection and clairvoyance: The third eye. As can many other other chemicals.
They have been used many times throughout history by many cultures.
The Ark of the Covenant was an alchemists tool used to extract the essential oils of ephedra, calamus, sassafrasand Aaron’s Rod. All are known to have stimulant properties. They act upon the brain by releasing chemicals such as norepinephrine, epinephrine, serotonin, and dopamine. Stimulating all regions of the brain including the pineal gland. Essentially, a lights on in the mind.
The North American Native Indians used calamus extensively in their diet and it was known to elevate them to plains of super-natural concsciouness. They used the stalks of calamus to fashion peace pipes. It also suppressed their appetites and controlled the rate and incidence of diabetes.
Science is the vehicle by which we can achieve the plains of God. The Ark of the Covenant was given to Moses by his Angels. But, the Ark of the Covenant is not the radio to God. We are the radios to God. It is in our minds.
We are nothing but biological radio receivers and transmitters. Everything we experience is in the form of a wave length. The fundamental science of existence can be explained by quantum physics; “silly strings,” of sound and light.
The Universe is comprised of radio frequencies, energies of all kinds, all of which oscillate at certain wave lengths. All of which can be attenuated by science. Even the celestial experience of Eloah, Elohim or God. It is science. All we need do is listen.
Crystal meth and MDMA are essential oils of ephedra, calamus, sassafras, and acacia manufactured by theelectro-chemical reduction process. It is the same process used in The Ark of the Covenant to produce the Holy Anointing Oil from the exact same ingredients in the exact same way.
Much like a leyden jar, but not for the purpose of electrical conduction the Batteries of Baghdad can also be easily explained. They were not batteries or electrical semiconductors per say, but arks used to conduct electro chemical activity to reduce pith and myrrh amongst other things to their essential oils for trade and commerce.
Also, the term “burning bush” and many other commonalities of the stories of Moses and his peoples journey through the deserts of Egypt can also be explained by a literal translation of “burning bush,” and manna to meanacacia, calamus, sassafras or more specifically ephedra - amphetamines and so on.
And, thus the Batteries of Baghdad explained and The Ark of the Covenant returned to Jerusalem!
