Some not so bad news

So the blog has really picked up. I have been repeatedly shown on CNN, in fact: "Your site will be mentioned on CNN domestic at 11:45a EDT (so in about 15 min), then at 1:35p EDT on CNN International. Also again on CNN domestic at 1:45p."

If anybody volunteers to record it, that would be great.

I was supposed to do an interview for CNN Pipeline, but legal problems are getting in the way of that as I am 17. Nonetheless, I will be doing the blog show on NBC's digital channel with Mekahlo Medina at 11:15am PST. It's live from what I gather, so you can tune in if you want. Listen to my weird accent again.

If you look to your right, I'm now a representative of Pajamas Media.

And to finish this post, a siren just went off and the bomb hit (a bank I think, not my usual branch but might as well be) Haifa. No casualties reported.

  • I'm going to try to use my video camera to film the CNN segment. It won't be the best quality but it will be better than nothing.

I have a question, will we be able to watch your interview on the internet?

  • You don't have a weird accent, it's beautiful. America is on your side and I have no doubt that Israel will kick Hizballah's ass. If Israel needs help with Iran, America will be there.

  • Hey man, let me say, I'm from the US and I truly admire you for staying in a warzone. I saw this website on CNN about five minutes ago (1:50 EST).

Just wanna show my support for all of you there. God bless.

  • I bet if you got a parent or gaurdian you could do the interview. They have kids on all the time. Stay safe. S.F.

  • Fear not my friend for the lord is with you. Soon your enemies will be destroyed. "I will set fire to the walls of Damascas" God has declared! Even when Russia, Iran , Sudan, Ethiopia, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Turkey, Syria, Lebanon and the central Asia islamic republics form their army to come against Israel they shall be destroyed by the hand of God. Then the whole will see the power of the God of Israel!

  • Hey. I'm an intern at CNN and i was just watching the news and saw the report about your blog. Thank you so much for keeping us all updated. It is amazing, how technology helps us all be well informed on what is going on with the war.
Stay Safe. I'll keep checking your blog to get more info.

  • Rob, nice recognition on Revelations. I too have noticed some similarities to the book. I need to re-read it, but I too think that God will save Isreal.

  • Fantastic! Kol hakavod -- good luck and stay safe and be assured that you (and Israel) have the support, admiration and prayers of millions.

  • What you are doing with this blog is as important as an armored column. It is unfortunate that those who most believe in peace must wage war however this is a war that must be waged and waged until the enemy is annihilated.
Until then you must continue and hishtamesh b'lamed beis (live blog).

  • Hi, my name is Itzjak Ventura, from Chile... The Jewish people of the world are waiting for Israel to call upon Jews to go and defend its honor.

Remember; Israelis are not alone, you are not alone. You have the support of Jews all over the world.

We will not go down without a fight, not again, not even if the whole world is against us.

Lies have been said trying to make Israel look like a terrorist state; they control the media, but we own the truth, thus we have no regret in our hearts.

    Hang on brother.

Truer Word's have never been spoken.

Information and Communication are more powerfull than bullets for they can prevent thing's like this from being neccesary in the future.

  • Not sure if you've recieved a comment from a Canadian yet, so I'll maybe be the first. While the rest of the world can only sit back, watch and listen to the tragedy unfolding in the Middle East we must admire the courage of those such as yourself who choose to stay and tell the story in your own words. I'm sure I speak on behalf of all Canadians when I say that we're all praying for resolve and peace. Thank you. When the conflict is over and assistance is needed...Canada will be there!

  • My God all the major new's stations will show is the civillian casualties from the Israeli attacks! Why arn't they showing the Victims of Hezzbollahs attacks?

I really don't understand, yes, a little girl getting caught in the crossfire is sad but the major new's stations are making it look like the israel's are intentionally targeting civillians.

  • I hate to pull politics into this, but the media, specifically the American media, likes to try to make the "little" guys seem more pathetic to swing public favor to them.

Why they're trying to make the Lebanese and Hezballah seem pathetic and set upon, I don't know. For instance, at this moment, MSNBC has a Lebanese kid giving a sob story on the air. This blog is the only account of an Israeli that I've heard of.

By Anonymous Purlz, at 9:54 PM

  • Sadiq I have a question.

in that video they used United nations Article 3 to condem targeting of civillians.

Why is that not being used to condem the actions of Hezzbollah? are they not also killing civillians?

So what if Israel wasnt Responding this harshly? They have been putting up with attacks on their civillian population for years, of course no one cares about all the dead israeli Women and children who have died in suicide bombings and mortar attacks.

No one cared this much when Al Quida killed 3000 innocent people on September 11th. no one cared this much when Britans subways were bombed. no one cared this much when Spains Railstations were destroyed.

I Don't wanna sound like a racist or a hate monger but it would seem to me that things like this are only Atrocities when Arabs or those harbouring extremeists are killed.

No one was this outraged about the atrocoties Saddam Hussien commited on his people.

Violence and hate only breeds more violece and hate. If things keep going like this...if everyone keeps taking an eye for an eye this will never end.

Sadiq will there ever be a time we can put aside things like this...resist the urge for revenge and just try to live in peace?

By Blogger LibrarianAkios, at 10:08 PM

  • Hang in there brother- we are thinking of you, of both sides who are innocent, and wanted you to know this- you are not alone.

By Blogger isaiah, at 10:23 PM

  • Great Blog! We all pray for the peace of Israel. May you win a swift and complete victory over these islamofascist terrorists.

By Blogger tesanista, at 10:35 PM

  • Eugene, were having a real diffuclt time hearing you on the interview, I think it might be their equipment.

By Blogger LibrarianAkios, at 10:38 PM

  • There is a fine line between retaliation and escalation. Israel retaliated, Hezballah escalated. Its like a little brother hitting an older brother and wondering why he gets hit back. The little bro continues to hit more and harder, the older bro matches him.

By Anonymous Purlz, at 10:47 PM

  • I believe everything that Itzjak Ventura said. He is true to the word. The Jews all across the world do have Israel's back, hand, arm, finger, everything. We will always be there, honor and support our one country, our one homeland. It's the only place that Jews can feel safe. And for that, Israel, we care and most respect you. Please be safe Eugene.

    You are great man.

  • I'm an another American grateful for the courage of you and your country. Thank you so much for the news and views. I was amazed that with 24-hour news stations I was getting so very little real info about the conflict. Does anybody have any suggestions on where else to get news? I've found the free analysis at Stratfor.com to be very insightful. God Bless you and your countrymen.

  • You seem pretty cool for a 17 year old. Most 17 year olds I know only care about themselves and their little world of trying to be popular and fashionable and seen with the right crowds, etc. The fact that you're living in a warzone and blogging the news of it to the rest of the world just astounds me, a lot of 17 year olds of the world could learn a thing or two from you. Good luck to you and be safe out there.
